In Japan, satoyama represents the harmonious border between village and nature-a reminder that all life is interconnected. For me, this symbolises the bridge between our inner world and the unseen wisdom of nature. We put eco-friendly traps around tree trunks naar the house and work areas to stop caterpillars from descending to pupate in the soil. The hairs of these caterpillars are toxic and cause irritation.
