The castle’s halls play host to insects and dust. A ‘nid de frelons’ or hornets’ nest on the first floor sabotages our romantic idea of spending the first night in the château on a mattress on the floor, so we make camp in the smaller hunters lodge, ‘la maison de chasse’ across the field.
