In Japan, satoyama represents the harmonious border between village and nature-a reminder that all life is interconnected. We put eco-friendly traps around tree trunks naar the house and work areas to stop caterpillars from descending to pupate in the soil. The hairs of these caterpillars are toxic and cause irritation.
